About

Garett Westerwelle, M.S., CMPC, CSCS
Mental Performance Coach

My name is Garett Westerwelle and I’m passionate about helping performers elevate their mental abilities, consistency, and enjoyment.

I have worked with Olympic, professional, collegiate and youth athletes, in addition to military personnel, business professionals, coaches and parents. I currently teach performance psychology full-time to soldiers in the U.S. Army and previously, worked as a mental performance coach at two NCAA Division 1 universities, UNC-Greensboro and UC-San Diego (in addition to being a strength & conditioning coach at UCSD).

I grew up as a multi-sport athlete and played football at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where I studied psychology. Through my experience as a student-athlete and learning about the world of sport psychology, I found my lifelong pursuit of helping people learn about the mind as a tool to improve their performance.

I’ve presented at conferences, co-authored a directory for the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), and was awarded the Master’s Scholar Award for the Kinesiology program at UNCG. I have obtained gold standard qualifications in mental performance (Certified Mental Performance Consultant) and physical performance (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist).
